Useful RV Camping Supplies

This is a running list of things that we found useful to have on our camping trips. I’ve included links below to items we have purchased or are similar to what we have. For full disclosure as an Amazon Aossociate I earn from qualifying purchases.

Roasting Sticks
  • Roasting Sticks for s’mores and cooking hot dogs. We have a set similar to the ones below. I really like the telescoping feature since they are easier to store in a drawer with the silverware. For full disclosure as an Amazon Associate I earn from qualifying purchases.
Extra outlets
  • Outlet Plug that has usb charging ports. This was super helpful for the kids to both be able to charge their devices at the same time. This was a great tool to keep the peace with minimal outlets in the camper.
Dog Bone aka electric adapter
  • We offered to plug in to some electricity at a harvest host site (you can find more about this program by following the link) but they only had standard 15 amp plugs and we learned that we could get what is called a “dog bone” that switch is an adapter that allows a 30 amp trailer to plug into a standard 15 amp outlet. We purchased the one below. For full disclosure as an Amazon Associate I earn from qualifying purchases.
Camping Table
  • When we started camping we were using a heavy small army surplus wooden table. Did I say it was heavy? Anyway when you are trying to keep weight down and storage small that’s not ideal. So, we purchased this small folding aluminum table on Amazon and it is so small and light weight we can store it with the camping chairs. It setups on quickly for a outside prep surface next to the trailer. Win! For full disclosure as an Amazon Associate I earn from qualifying purchases.
Blow out plug for getting water out of the lines
  • We purchased our camper in the fall and it was already winterized. After a season of camping we had to figure out what that actually entailed. Yes, you can take your camper to a facility have have them winterize it for you but we are the do it yourselves kind of people. Nicole took to researching online and watching YouTube videos and found most people in northern climates don’t just use RV antifreeze to winterize, they also blow out their lines. Dave already had an air compressor (do it yourselves people, remember?) so we found this plug on amazon. It works fairly well to get most of the water out of the lines and importantly the hot water heater. There is still some residual water in the lines when put the the antifreeze in but we found this process works pretty well. For full disclosure as an Amazon Associate I earn from qualifying purchases.
